Friday Family BBQ's

Each month on a Friday night, Childhood Cancer Support holds its legendary family BBQ, typically kicking off around 6:00pm. Our dedicated volunteers, Lois and Brian (“Cookie”) Shinners, have been frying up snags and “the world’s best steaks” at these BBQ’s since 2004.

Lois and Brian are  well known among our families for not only their culinary prowess, but their incredible kindness and dedication to putting smiles on the faces of our families and children. These Friday Family BBQ’s provide Childhood Cancer Support residents and other oncology families with the opportunity to mingle and meet new people in what may be a very foreign city or new home, and take a night off from cooking.
