A group of “pirates” who began a 1600km car rally in Nanango recently have raised more than $12,000 for Childhood Cancer Support.
The Buc-car-neers left Nanango on July 2 and then “sailed” through Miles, St George, Stanthorpe, Chinchilla, Gayndah and on to Maroochydore on their fundraising voyage.
The car enthusiasts were also promoting “Talk Like A Pirate Day” (September 19) which is a major fundraising day for Childhood Cancer Support.
The charity provides families with free short-term and long-term accommodation, as well as transport services to and from hospital, and psychological and emotional support.
