The Jarvis' Story

We are the Jarvis family from Eumundi on the Sunshine Coast. We stayed at Childhood Cancer Support for more than 3 months.

Our daughter Haylea aged 3 was diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma, which eventually spread to her lungs. Due to the nature of her illness she has been very sick.  We (the parents), Brent Jarvis, Catherine Richmond and brothers Dylan (aged 14 years) and Kyle (aged 12 years) have been very grateful for the support provided by Childhood Cancer Support, allowing our family to stay together and support each other while Haylea fights her battle.

We had never heard of CCS before this happened, so we now tell everyone about the wonderful work they do and how important this service is.

Having the support from Childhood Cancer Support and the other families nearby really helps, whether it is getting together for a BBQ or a cup of coffee and cake, it gives us all a chance to talk to and help each other get through the good times and the bad. We cannot thank CCS enough for making this stressful time in our lives a lot easier.
