VE Group Charity Long Lunch Raises $318,490 for Childhood Cancer Support

The VE Group Charity Long Lunch, held this past week, has set a new milestone, raising a staggering $318,490 for Childhood Cancer Support. Hosted at the stunning Waters Edge Weddings & Events at Portside, the event united sponsors, volunteers, and supporters in their commitment to helping families affected by childhood cancer.

This annual event, founded by Nathan and Bronwen Howell, owners of the VE Group, has grown significantly since its inception. It has become a major fundraiser for Childhood Cancer Support, with the funds raised providing vital services such as free accommodation, transport, and counselling to families relocating to Brisbane for their child’s oncology treatment.

A Record-Breaking Success

This year’s total surpassed last year’s effort of raising over $220,000, setting a new benchmark. The $318,490 raised will directly contribute to Childhood Cancer Support’s work, including the development of the Childhood Cancer Support Village, a 15-apartment complex that will provide families with a ‘home away from home’ during treatment.

The success of the event is due to the generous support of volunteers, corporate sponsors, and donors. A special thank you goes to Riley Young, Brett Lenz, Greg Swann, Tom Doedee, and James Chauncy from Pickles Auctions, who all contributed to making the day unforgettable.

Celebrating Our Sponsors

We extend our deepest gratitude to the VE Group for their leadership and vision in hosting the event and to Coverforce Smart Insurance Solutions, this year’s silver sponsor, whose commitment to protecting Australian businesses played a pivotal role in making the day a success.

A huge thank you also goes out to our bronze sponsors, whose generous contributions helped bring this event to life:

  • Rocklea Truck Electrical (RTE)
  • The Fleet Office
  • Brown and Hurley – The Big Truck People
  • Brisvegas Machinery
  • Pickles Industrial
  • Karan & Co
  • Paccar Financial
  • Kenworth
  • Yellowgate Group
  • Cummins Inc.
  • Dixie Holdings
  • SEE Group

These businesses, leaders in their respective industries, came together to support Childhood Cancer Support and their mission to help families in need.

A Community Effort

The VE Group Charity Long Lunch exemplifies the power of community and corporate social responsibility. The event not only raised much-needed funds for Childhood Cancer Support but also provided businesses an opportunity to unite for a cause that impacts so many lives.

If you were unable to attend but would still like to contribute, the fundraising page is still live, and any support is greatly appreciated.

Looking Ahead

We are already looking forward to next year’s Charity Long Lunch, where we aim to raise even more funds to support Childhood Cancer Support’s essential services. With the help of the VE Group, our sponsors, and the incredible community that comes together each year, we are confident that next year’s event will be an even bigger success.

From all of us at Childhood Cancer Support, thank you to the VE Group, their sponsors, and everyone who participated. Together, we are making a lasting difference for families facing childhood cancer.
